Best places to visit in colombia

Colombia is a country of stark contrasts: Rugged Andes peaks and lush rainforest valleys, modern cities and Spanish colonial villages, hot Caribbean beaches and snowy mountains.  Best of all, much of the country is untouched by the tourist and expat industry because of the country’s less than reputable past.  With so little
literature out there about Colombia, knowing where and what to do can be challenging.  Throw in the ever present security question, and the planning process is downright frustrating.

Here are my top five best places to visit in Colombia.  I could go on, but gotta keep it short.  If you have anything to add, please do so below.

The Coffee Triangle

Colombia is the most famous coffee producer in the world and in the Colombian Coffee Triangle coffee is not just a hot drink but a culture and livelihood. A tour through this region takes you through spectacular green countryside, where you have the chance to go on a coffee farm tour, horse ride and hike though the Cocora Valley, full of the tallest palm trees in the world.

Tayrona National Park and the Lost City

Chances are that if you´ve heard anything about Colombia you´ve heard something about Tayrona National Park and the Lost City. Tumbling down from the tallest coastal mountain range on the planet, this 15,000 hectare park is bursting with tropical wildlife and archaeological treasures. Apart from scuba diving, wildlife observation and relaxing on the beach, Tayrona National Park is the leaving point for Colombia´s most famous hike, a 5 day jungle trek to the Lost City, dubbed ´the new Machu Pichu´.

Cartagena

Cartagena´s colonial charm, colorful culture and picturesque coastal setting has made it Colombia´s number 1 travel destination for decades. Whether you´re there to wander through the narrow streets of the World Heritage site Listed old city, party or chill out on the beaches of the beautiful neighboring islands, Cartagena certainly has something for everyone.

Bogota

Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, has everything that a cosmopolitan city could have, juxtaposed with a 500 year old history and an undeniably Colombian vibe. In Bogotá you can check out the famous gold museum containing pre-Columbian art, as well as the biggest collection of Botero artwork in world. On top of this you can dine at some world class restaurants, wander through La Candelaria and check out the pumping nightlife in the Zona Rosa.

The Amazon

A trip to Colombia´s Amazon rainforest is certainly one of the must do excursions for any nature lover. This jungle literally palpitates with life, and here you can do some of the best wildlife observation tours on the planet, to see everything from pink dolphins, anacondas, jaguars and over 1500 different bird species.

Underwater Adventure Scuba diving in Hawaii

Scuba diving underwater can be a small challenge. For those experienced divers which go scuba diving underwater remaining calm is simple and for others that aren’t so experienced it may turn out to be quite a task but when you harness the skill of remaining calm while underwater your diving trip will be much more long-lasting, beautiful and pleasant.
Each year new and experienced divers alike from all over the world make millions of enjoyable scuba dives; and for the vast majority of the time, we make these dives without incident or injury. This is because as certified divers, we take our fun seriously: we have taken the time to learn safety guidelines to become conscientious and responsible divers, so we can keep on diving. And we talk about our dives, learning from our own and others experiences.
Hawaii also offers some great underwater scuba diving. The islands are ringed with reefs and wildlife. The area north of the islands has been made into the largest marine reserve in the United States ensuring great diving for years to come.

Travel Writing Earning Money On Your Next Holiday Vacation Or Getaway

Do you love to travel? I understand that's a silly question. Who doesn't? Are you keeping a journal or perhaps a diary of your travel adventures? Wouldso would like to get paid for those travel adventures you have been going on and writing down?

Travel writing like a freelance author is one of the fastest growing segments on the web. As a freelance travel writer, travel related websites pays you for your articles, it could be a cruise to the Mexican Rivera or perhaps your visit to a Gothic Cathedral.

Obviously the first question out of your mouth ought to be; 'Why would someone pay me in my travel writing?' which is actually a very good question and a very legitimate one. The answer is easy: most travel related sites support themselves with advertising revenue and affiliate marketing programs with travel companies like Orbits and so on. In order for the owners to increase the visitors to their sites they need content from the variety of sources (the most popular resource is freelance travel writers). The thing is, the more content they have the much more likely someone searching for information, specific for their site content, is going to find them searching engines like Google, Yahoo! and Bing. Additionally, the more people that visit their travel site, the higher the chance becomes that the visitor will click an advert that generates the site some income.

You now may be thinking that travel writing editors may reject your submission, and that is true if your submitting simply to travel magazines. However, most travel writing internet sites are not as strict and also the good ones will help you with your writing and edit it to ensure that is grammatically correct if you have a problem with that.

Another excellent way to get taken care of you travel writing is by using a blog about your travel adventures. You are able to setup a blog for free in a number of sites. To get started earning money, just sign-up for a free Adsense Account and Google will set relevant ads on your site. As people read your posts, they may click on one of the ads and also you get paid for that click. Trust me, those clicks add up fast and subsequently thing you know Google is sending a check or depositing profit your Pay Pal account.

If you are not a world traveller, I'm prepared to bet that you go do things and find out places close to you. Those little excursions are what you ought to write about. Remember that where you live is really a destination for other people. If you talk about, people will find it and read about this.

If you're not sure where to start together with your travel writing, how to setup a totally free blog or even what a good travel article appears like there are hundreds of resources, examples and guides online to help you get started. Some of the resources have the freedom and some cost money. If your just starting out or thinking about trying to generate income with travel writing I'd search for the free resources first before spending anything.

Who knows, that next trip you are taking may just very well get paid for together with your travel writing.

Disneyland: Where to Stay

Continuing our series about Disneyland, today Rachel shares with us what you ought to know about choosing where to stay!

So, you’ve decided you’re likely to Disneyland. The next step is to decide your visit. Making hotel arrangements at Disneyland is a touch different than at Walt Disney World.

First, lots of people choose to stay on property at Disney because of the Magic Express and free transportation through the Disney World. However, at Disneyland, you won't find these conveniences. The Disneyland Resort Express is operated with a third party (Gray Line) and can cost a family of up to 5 $80-$100 for round-trip service in one of the area airports to some Disneyland -area hotel. The three Disney hotels are within easy reach of the parks. Many of the Good Neighbor hotels offer taxi to the parks (some are complimentary, some at a price) and the Anaheim Resort Transit offers convenient transportation through the resort area. If you have an individual vehicle and drive towards the parks, parking will cost you $15 each day.

There are only three Disney-owned hotels at Disneyland -the Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Paradise Pier, and Disney’s Grand Californian. The Disneyland hotel opened in 1955 but was operated with a third party until bought through the Disney Company in 1989. A lot of it was torn down in 1999 to create room for Downtown Disney and parking areas. The Paradise Pier was purchased and transformed into a Disney property in 1995. The Grand Californian was opened in 2001. It comes with an exclusive entrance into Disney’s California Adventure with the Grand Californian.

The Disneyland hotel is really a classic. It has recently been renovated and it is a tribute to the early from the park. The Paradise Pier is similar to the area of California Adventure it overlooks-classic California beachfront boardwalk. The Grand Californian is really a AAA Four-Diamond property and includes villas along with suites and standard rooms. Built-in classic California craftsman style, it's the only DVC property at Disneyland.

Unlike booking your Disney vacation, you CAN book a great Neighbor hotel as part of your package at Disneyland. You will find over forty to choose from. You may also book a Disney dining plan in your package when choosing a non-Disney hotel. I really like that you can book a non- Disney hotel and dining plan together included in a Disney package! It's great for those on a budget! You'll find some good deals and great perks at a few of these off-property resorts. Some offer complimentary transportation towards the parks. Many offer a free breakfast. Plus some even offer Disney view rooms. We stayed in the Embassy Suites with a Disney view room and may see California Adventure in the room as well as the nightly fireworks displays.

Grand Canyon Travel Tips

You can visit the Grand Canyon in the north of the canyon (North Rim) or even the South (South Rim). The northern rim is 365 metres (1200 ft) greater than the southern rim.
If it's your first visit to Grand Canyon National Park and/or you're travelling with children, you’ll probably want to visit the South Rim because of its relative abundance of hotels, services and activities. Grand Canyon South Rim is open year-round, which makes it the best choice for a wintertime visit.
Grand Canyon North Rim, that is only open from mid-May through mid-October, is much better suited to couples, hikers and people seeking a quieter experience.

Within the National Park you can move about the many viewpoints using the passenger bus. There are several lines and if you need to see them all, it will take you eventually at least .

If you want to know the Canyon closer and fully understand the scale of the Canyon, you are able to take one of the hiking trails. But remember that some of them are long, specially when they go from the top all the way down towards the river. It will take twice time to hike out of the canyon that it'll to hike down.
In Summer plan the hike very early, and that i mean VERY early. This is because to finish the hike prior to the hottest hours of the day so you don't get caught at midday in the center of the hike. There are not trees or almost anything to protect against the sun and the ground in Summer can warm up above 43 degrees Celsius (110 F). Be sure to bring water with you for short hikes. There are many signs round the park warning that there happen to be some casualties in the past years due to dehydration.

If you don't have much time, a great choice can be taking one of the helicopter or plane tours where you can enjoy some amazing views the Canyon from the privileged place. The massive heat approaching from the Canyon can provoke serious turbulences. Bear in mind!

If you stay longer, plan some Grand Canyon tours or pursuits like mule rides, Colorado River rafting trips, 4x4 safari-jeep tours or ranger-guided activities.
